I've heard great things about this venue and festival, and I'm hoping that I can go this year. The initial lineup looks promising, and of course, there will be many more additions. The focus is on the funk, but of course they go beyond that. Here's who they've got so far:
Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood The Funky Meters Medeski, Martin & Wood Karl Denson's Tiny Universe John Scofield & Piety Street Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk Lettuce George Porter, Jr. Jon Cleary Pimps of Joytime
With all these bands, there are definitely going to be some phenomenal collaborations, and there are some hints of what is to come. Could George Porter signal a Warren Haynes Band appearance? With Lettuce on board, could Soulive be far behind? Anyone else going? Who else might play?

Depends on what you're looking for, hummingbird. They're worlds apart, for sure. Bear Creek brings that funk.

I've been to the park for Wanee twice, but haven't made it to Bear Creek. I hope that will change this year.
The park is one of the best places to go see a festival.

Spirit of the Suwanee is probably my favorite festie spot right now. I have seen so many bands from the comfort of my hammock at that place.
Bear Creek is a lot like Wanee, lerxst, but with about 8,000-10,000 people instead of 15,000-20,000 (maybe there were more last year at Wanee). The atmosphere is a little different because of the crowd size, but it's every bit as energetic.

Tickets drop tomorrow, kids!
It's well worth the 4 day, not sure about 5 day but it's most definitely best to buy as early as possible.
