Ironically enough this new board is helping me procrastinate the review.

Alright, so you've now forced me to check out James Blake.
The first song I explored was "Limit to Your Love", completely unaware that it was THAT "Limit to Your Love". As a Feist fan, I made one of those scrunchy faces when I heard the first few seconds of Blake's version. "Wha?" I said to myself.
As I settled into the song, I was overtaken by his haunting approach and the jazzier feel he crafted into the song. I truly liked his version better than Feist's.
I listened to a few more tracks and I wished I had waited until after sundown to try it all out; dark, alone, drunk. Many of the works I checked out were unsettling, melancholy and seemingly disorganized...purposefully. And I appreciated the sound.

He's changed his sound so much over his four releases (3 EPs, 1 LP) but that's one constant.

I love that about his music. It's jarring and constantly keeps you on your toes.

We're on the edge of our seats. In all honesty, I have listened to that album far too little. This morning was such a beautiful way to get ready for work, thanks to Mr. Blake.

Beautifully written review by our very own nodepressionwww.lifessweetbreath.com/reviews/albums/28-james-blake.html"The crushing emotional highs and lows of adolescence, that pit in your stomach when you catch someone’s eyes across the desks in your classroom, is now gone, in its place, a plateau of indifference."

Best of luck to you man. I don't know if these tracks are new to you but have you heard the Air & Lack Thereof EP? Just noticed it on his Wikipedia entry. I'm downloading it right now so I will report back of its awesomeness. His full-length really is just on a different level.

I think that James Blake is important enough to be representative of some sort of climax in the story of popular music (not to be confused with "pop" music). Once he is sufficiently neglected by the top 40 stations, the internet generation (who WILL love him if they don't already) will have lost all confidence that the radio stations have any semblance of an eye for talent. JB is the "nail in the coffin", so to speak.
On another note: Who thinks that Regina Spektor is the only other person on the planet who could do justice to "Give Me My Month"?
