The thing is, I don't want to step on any toes. We just made this to better LSB and don't want it to be seen as some sort of revolt.

I was kidding. I don't think this should be seen as a revolt or anything of the sort. There are plenty other music based message boards on the web.
This is an extension of LSB.

Gotta agree with you on Massive Attack--I've still never seen them so I'd love to see that happen.
I'm still pulling for a Daft Punk Saturday night set...pleeeeeeeeeeeease Bonnaroo gods!
btw Robert Plant & his new band, Band of Joy, are confirmed and have already been announcing it at shows. woot!
would love to see Florence & the Machine too.

if Daft Punk shows up at Roo i'm going to be PISSED because i know i can't make it
how likely is U2 to show up?

Post by karosko on Feb 8, 2011 14:14:06 GMT -5
U2 is very unlikely, unfortunately.
The headliners are most likely a mysterious hip-hop act (possibly Eminem and/or Dr. Dre, hopefully Outkast), Arcade Fire, and Widespread Panic, with My Morning Jacket most likely getting a late night on Friday, The Black Keys opening for the hip-hop act on Saturday, and Robert Plant opening for WSP on Sunday. So:
Friday: Arcade Fire > MMJ (or some combination of this; also, it's unclear whether MMJ will be on the What Stage or Which Stage) Saturday: The Black Keys > Hip-Hop headliner (on the What Stage) Sunday: Robert Plant & the Band of Joy > Widespread Panic (on the What Stage)

I'll be posted up in Camp Doesn't Give a Crap Unless Daft Punk plays at 'Roo's house. Then I'll be posted up in Camp Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Meh. It's a little underwhelming. I mean, if it was another fest's lineup it would be killer, but the fact that it's 'Roo, it's the 10th anniversary, and last year left me with a bad taste, I'm passing it up for smaller fests.
To each their own, but I'm of the opinion that Bonnaroo has outgrown itself.

People need to accept that Black Eyed Peas are gonna headline.
The fact that they are headlining Wireless Festival a few weeks after the fact kinda confirms my fears.

I just think its funny at this point. It makes sense. They have a previous relationship with them and they are at a point where they can headline. I suppose this is what Ashley Capps ment by "lots of headliners".
Here is wishing to a great undercard. If not my cash is headed to Sasquatch this year.

^^ And thats 2 points in Roo's favor. As is Robert Plant.
I'm sure I'll end up going ... I just have to treat it like 2004 where I only cared about 1 headliner and nap for late nights.
