Every Banksy piece I've seen has been pretty thought-provoking.
Granted, I don't know very much at all about visual art.
I need to see Exit Through the Gift Shop.

Those all look interesting.
Like I said, I'm a total amateur when it comes to visual art. Do geometric figures generally represent some idea? Or are they a defining trait of Expressionism? The first one looks chaotic, but I don't know how to approach the other ones except that they look cool.
School me.

To be honest, I can't really school you. For all I know, the figures are just placed there randomly. A lot of expressionist works try to take something real and distort it in a way that borders on unrecognizable, and some of Kandinsky's stuff is like that, but something about the figures and the way they're placed within the painting really elicits a response in my brain.
I know very little about art from a technical perspective or in actually searching for meaning in pieces, especially in the more abstract stuff like that. It's just like you said, I just like what I like because it looks cool and I think it's pretty. Maybe one day I'll understand why.

I must make it to the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors some day. you would die seeing this painting in person. it might as well be life-size it's so big. and there are SO many details the picture doesn't pick up. i was lucky enough to meet him on my trip to the CoSM and i snuck a picture in even though you're not supposed to... and i had him sign a card with his artwork on it...

I became a Bansky fan not to long ago after the recommendation from a friend. Love his work and technique is great, I think that, as well as his statements, really set him apart from others. Anyone here into photography? I've never been very good at it, but do enjoy a good photo - plus a good photo usually makes a good reference for me to draw from ha ha
